Jon Adam Hankin Memorial Foundation

The Jon Adam Hankin Memorial Foundation was established to honor the memory of Jon Adam Hankin. Having overcome his struggle with addiction, Jonny enjoyed a long period of drug-free living. After years of recovery, Jonny's life was cut short by a drug overdose, August 16, 1998. The tragedy of addiction is that even after recovery, the addict may be drawn back into the battle. Sometimes after a relapse an individual can begin recovery with even stronger resolve. Other times there is no return, no mercy from a momentary lapse.

Jonny believed that people in recovery would truly benefit if they had a clean, beautiful place they were proud to call home. Jonny began to create residential communities where an individual could recover both self-esteem and the interpersonal skills needed for success.

Jonny's House now consists of many homes in Orange County, California that offer those in recovery a clean and sober, supportive environment to develop their new lives. The Jon Adam Hankin Memorial Foundation was created to continue Jonny's dream.

Our government funds law enforcement, legal and penal efforts to combat addiction. Insurance companies spend millions to treat the effects of addiction. The areas least funded are rehabilitation and relapse prevention. The Jon Adam Hankin Memorial Foundation directs ALL of its contributions toward those organizations which support relapse prevention. Our focus is to those who are in recovery and are working to keep it. We are not a research organization. Our work is "in the trenches of recovery".

The Jon Adam Hankin Memorial Foundation is a non-profit corporation approved by section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All donations to The Foundation are tax deductible. Ask your tax advisor. Currently our support is provided through The Jon Adam Hankin Memorial Award and The Jon Adam Hankin Memorial Scholarship.
